Social City Getting Bigger

Monday, June 7th, 2010

I have to admit that I haven't played Social City for a few weeks but my Mum keeps on playing it and she is climbing ranks really well.  She is on level 27 and has just bought the Casino which cost $1,000,000.  The Casino is good because it is ready every hour and you get $2500 each time you click on it when it's ready.

She has a small swimming pool and now the big swimming pool and is buying heaps of stuff.  That is a screenshot of her city below, but it's hard to see cause I had to zoom out to fit it all in.

How to Get the Most Ribbons in FarmVille

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

It's pretty easy to earn a few ribbons in FarmVille. As you just go about your daily tasks, you'll wind up accomplishing at least some of the early ribbon-worthy tasks. You may notice when you do win one though, that the bonuses they pay out are pretty hefty. You can actually earn a lot of money and experience points quickly if you collect as many ribbons as you can. This is relatively easy to do, but you do have to put some effort into it if you want to get as much as you can out of your FarmVille experience.

Know What You Need

You won't be able to focus your energies on earning ribbons unless you know what you need to get them. You can find this information easily enough by clicking on the ribbon icon in the lower right hand corner of your screen. This will bring up a list of all of the possible ribbons and show you how you're progressing in each category. (more...)

Getting Started in FarmVille

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

If you're new to the world of FarmVille, it won't likely take long for you to figure out why this game has captured the imagination of so many people. There are a ton of options when it comes to what seeds you can grow, what buildings and decorations you can put on your farm, and which types of livestock you choose to raise. Because you do have so many options though, it can be a little difficult at first to figure out where to start in order to develop your farm right.

Expand Slowly

You want to get the most out of your land when you're working in FarmVille. This means that you'll want to clear a substantial amount of land so that you can plant as many crops as possible. You do have to be careful about how much land you clear at once though. It costs 15 coins to clear one plot of land, so if you clear too many at once, you won't have any coins left to buy the seeds you want to plant. (more...)

Is Buying a FarmVille Guide Worth It?

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

I have to admit, I was pretty skeptical when I first started seeing FarmVille guides popping up. I mean, I'd never really played the game, but from the name I assumed there couldn't be all that much to it. After all, how much strategy could possibly go into building a virtual farm? But once I started seeing these guides, I figured it'd be worth taking a shot at the game to see what all the hubbub could possibly be about.

And I was actually rather surprised. Building my own virtual farm was much more enjoyable than I'd imagined it would be. Part of that was because there really were a lot of options and a lot of decisions to make. The more I played the game, the more I realized that there probably could be a lot of helpful information in a guide because there were just too many ways you could play. (more...)

How to Make the Most Money in FarmVille

Monday, May 24th, 2010

FarmVille is a great place to go to escape the rigors of everyday life. You can get back to nature and enjoy the peace and tranquility that comes from working on the land. However, not everything in FarmVille is an escape from the ordinary. You still need money for just about everything you do. You have to buy the seeds to plant, and you'll even have to pay a small sum for each plot of land you plow.

These costs are easily managed of course because you're harvesting and selling your crops for more than it cost to plant them. There are a lot of other items you can buy in the FarmVille market to decorate and build up your farm, and you won't be able to get these without some significant sums of cash. Buying these items will also get you some much needed experience points to help you advance to the next level, so you'll have to find a way to make sure you have enough money for all the discretionary items you want to buy. Lost in FarmVille?

Sunday, May 23rd, 2010

If you're having trouble getting a hang of the way of things in FarmVille, you're not alone. I know of quite a few people who got into the game expecting it to be easy as pie and were quickly frustrated. In fact, I was one of them. So I went looking for a guide to help me master the farming life.

I actually tried quite a few of these guides, but not many of them had much helpful information to give. They were either designed for people who'd gotten all the way to the upper levels already, or they were severely outdated because of additions made to the game since they were released. FarmVille is a relatively new game and is still in the Beta stage, so a lot of improvements have been made to it in a short time and many of the guides on the market have not been updated to account for these changes. Co-op Farming on Farmville and Puppy Dogs

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

I quite like the new co-op farming on Farmville where you can start a co-op job and you have to plant and harvest a certain amount of a certain plant in a certain time period.

Once you start a job, your friends can then join your co-op and help you to get the plants harvested in the time period.  If you haven't started your own job, then you can join one of your friends co-op jobs.  You get your normal coins and xp rewards for harvesting your crop plus a bonus for completing a co-op job, so this can help you to climb the ranks a little faster.

Co-0p farming is also a great way to help friends out and just play a more 'friendly' game where you can be involved more with your friends.
